Phnom Penh is the largest city in Cambodia and also the capital. Phnom Penh is neighboring country with a long culture.The architecture in Phnom Penh is very interesting because it is a mix of traditional Khmer and French influences. However Now, Phnom Penh has become one of the most interesting cities and attracts tens of thousands of tourists each year.
1.Wat Phnom
Wat Phnom is an old temple that has a long history of more than 600 years. The temple is located on a 27-meter high mountain that is surrounded by trees. The staircase is decorated with The Naga and lion statue that is the traditional Khmer style. On the top, you will see an old temple that is also placed old bronze Buddha image. Inside, there is a mural depicting Phutthachatak and the epic Ramayana.Behind the temple, there is upside down bell-shaped pagoda of Phraya Yat, the Khmer King, who moved the capital to Phnom Penh in 1975.

2. Choeung Ek
The Killing Fields of Choeung Ek is a somber reminder of the terror of the Khmer Rouge between 1975 – 1979. Many people are killed in this situation. More than 8000 skeletons have been found here. Approximately 17000 people are expected to die. Today, the government has stopped digging more so that the victims can rest in peace. Nowadays, the place is considered a tourist destination to remember the violence of the past which hopefully will be a good lesson for many people that violence is not the right way. If you go to this place, you should go with respect as well.

3.National musuem
A national museum is a place to collect ancient evidence historical knowledge that indicates the origin of that nation. For traveler should visit the museum before the other place because it will make you know this city more and traveling in this city more fun. Within the museum, this national museum contains many interesting things, such as the Head sculpture of King Jayavarman 7, the images of Vishnu in the 6th and 9th centuries, etc. Although the Exhibition room cannot take a photo, you can take it outside with a beautiful building that is designed with unique architecture that is the combination of Cambodia and France.

4.Jatumuk Palace or Royal Palace
Jatumuk Palace or Royal Palace is an important landmark that you must see in Phnom Penh. This palace is a group of royal buildings that are used for the residence of the king, the place of important ceremonies as well as the reception of foreign guests. This palace is a Cambodian style of architecture that has been helped by France. Nowadays, this place has become a must-see attraction if visiting Phnom Penh as well.

5.Psar Thmei
Psar Thmei, A market with a unique architecture designed in yellow domes. Inside, the domes are designed as 4 sides and each side is filled with different types of shops such as Jewelry shop, gold shop, silver shop, antique coin shop Unisex clothing store, Shoe store, Bag shop, Gift shop Fish and seafood shops, etc.

6.Wat Ounalom
Wat Ounalom, an old temple believed to be one of the top 5 holy places in Phnom Penh. Inside, the temple is quite shady and peaceful. The temple has interesting architecture. It is traditional Khmer architecture with a curved roof is decorated with gold and red.
